Woodland People Directories

Woodland people directories range from current staff lists to archive volumes that place residents at an address decades ago. Browse Woodland directories according to the person or fact sought. Government and school rosters identify public contacts, while county records connect names with deeds, parcels, and cases. Historical collections, newspapers, and cemetery entries add family links when a current web search runs cold. California license and business tools can then confirm a public role or filing. Each source has its own limits, so a sound Woodland directory search uses the official keeper and checks the result against another record.

Woodland People Directory Coverage

No single directory lists everyone in Woodland. City and county staff lists work best for official contacts. School and college rosters cover local education. Recorder, Assessor, court, and tax records act as narrower name or address directories, subject to each office's access rules. Yolo County Archives holds the deeper historical trail, while the city cemetery file provides a detailed interment index. These people directories answer different questions, so the keeper and access route matter as much as the name.

Begin with the most direct current source. Use a government roster for an agency contact, an education directory for a campus role, and the Assessor route for a known street address. For a past resident, the Woodland city directories and newspaper microfilm are often more useful than a modern phone list. The full rules for obtaining copies or filing a request belong with Woodland public records access.

Search Woodland City Staff

The Woodland Staff Directory can be searched by category, first name, or last name. Categories range from City Administration and the City Clerk to Planning, Cemetery, Public Works, Fire, Police, and the Woodland Public Library. It also works as a department phone book. If a person is absent, use the relevant main line or call the City Clerk at 530-661-5806. A city public-record request is the last fallback for an existing, disclosable agency record.

Its department categories help narrow common surnames before a first-name search, while the direct office numbers give a clear fallback when no staff row appears.

Woodland Government Directory Details

A city department result can supply more than a name. The Building Division page inspected in July 2026 showed the department address, main phone, page link, public hours, and a staff table. A typical row displays professional contact data, not a home address. That makes the directory useful for finding the right official or confirming an agency role without treating it as a broad personal list.

  • Name: the staff member's listed name.
  • Title: an official role, such as Chief Building Official or inspector.
  • Email: a work contact link when published.
  • Phone: a direct work number when assigned.
  • Additional Phone: another office or department contact when applicable.
  • Department Context: heading, office address, main line, hours, and department page.

The Yolo County Staff Directory adds search-all, name, title, A-Z, and department paths. Results may show staff, title, department, phone, and email. County supervisors and staff in planning, environmental health, community services, and Assessor/Clerk-Recorder functions appear through official county channels. Elected-official rosters add federal, state, county, city, school, and special-district categories.

At the state level, the California Personnel Office Directory needs a careful label. It is an A-Z directory of agency personnel offices and department or campus addresses. It is not a universal lookup for all state workers. The Personnel Office Directory list pictured below is therefore best for finding an agency's payroll or personnel contact.

The alphabetical agency layout supports office routing, but it should not be described as a statewide employee-name search.

Note: Department main lines remain the best fallback when a current official contact does not appear in a Woodland staff directory.

Woodland Education People Directories

The Woodland Joint Unified School District directory is the local entry point for district and school contacts. Some results are rendered through school pages, where rows can show a name, role or department, phone, and a message control. If the main directory does not expose the needed row, call the district at 530-662-0201 or open the individual school page. The Yolo County Office of Education also publishes staff entries and can route calls through its front office at 530-668-6700.

The official WJUSD directory entry screen confirms the district search path, though its content may load through the site's publishing system.

School-specific pages are the practical second channel when the central Woodland directory does not return a visible staff list.

Woodland Community College's staff directory is richer. It lists name, email, title, campus, phone, building, and room. The faculty directory can also supply instructor profile, class schedule, office hours, and contact information. Yuba Community College District's broader staff directory includes its other campuses and centers, so confirm that a result belongs to Woodland Community College before relying on the campus line.

The official college directory display illustrates how its Woodland people directories combine identity and campus-location fields.

Building and room data make the college list more specific than a simple phone book, while the campus field prevents confusion with another district site.

Woodland Records Used as Directories

Several official records work like directories even though that is not their main purpose. The Yolo Clerk-Recorder grantor and grantee index lists people named in recorded deeds, transfers, liens, and other filed documents. It can be searched by party name, document number, document type, or recording date. The online index is free, but document images are viewed at the office kiosk. Plain copies may be emailed and certified copies are mailed after the order and phone-payment steps.

Court Smart Search functions as a party index for public case information, subject to sealed, confidential, and web-access limits. The California voter file is far more restricted and is not a general public directory. It requires an approved purpose, application, identification, fees, and compliance with use rules. Those limits make voter data a poor starting point for an ordinary Woodland people directory search.

Use records lawfully. Directory and record data should support legitimate personal, family-history, consumer-safety, or civic research. Never use it to stalk, harass, or harm anyone.

Woodland Assessor Directory Limits

The Yolo County Assessor Property Value Lookup is not a general owner-name directory. Its web form searches by fee parcel, assessment number, or street address. Current ownership and owner mailing address are part of official roll access, but the county routes those details through phone or counter service. Phone help is limited to three parcels per call. This mixed access pattern matters when the only fact available is a person's name.

With an address, start in the web lookup and note the parcel or latest recorded document. Then contact the Assessor for current ownership data where available. To trace earlier owners, search the Clerk-Recorder index and review the deed at the kiosk or order a copy. A historical reverse directory can show an occupant who was not the legal owner.

Note: Yolo GIS can add parcel and district context, but county maps are not authoritative and may update on a different schedule.

Woodland Professional Directory Checks

California's official license and filing systems can confirm a public professional or business trail. The Department of Consumer Affairs License Search accepts first name, last name, license number, business name, and board or license-type filters. Results for participating boards may show current or expired status and discipline indicators. Contractors and attorneys use separate profession-specific official lookups.

The Secretary of State bizfile search accepts an entity name or number and offers filters for entity type, status, and filing date. A result can provide status, filing history, agent or address data, and available filing PDFs. It does not make owners, shareholders, or staff part of the state business record. Yolo County, rather than the state, keeps fictitious business name statements. These sources work best for confirming an official filing, not for drawing conclusions from a name match alone.

Woodland Cemetery Name Directory

The Woodland Cemetery resources include a 196-page master grave-record PDF current to early 2023. It is a structured people directory, not just a cemetery map. Entries can include section, lot or row, grave number, surname, given name, birth and death dates, burial date, burial record number, notes, marker status, veteran flag, and a memorial reference. Those fields can connect a relative to an exact plot and distinguish people with similar names.

Access begins with the free city PDF. The cemetery office is the fallback for clarification or a record not found in the file. St. Joseph Woodland Cemetery and Mary's Cemetery District have official contact routes, but no public name-search database was verified for either. Do not infer that a missing PDF entry means the person was not buried in the Woodland area.

Woodland Historical Directory Collections

Yolo County Archives sits in Woodland at 226 Buckeye Street, close to the city and county offices that hold current records. Research access is by appointment on Tuesday mornings and Thursday afternoons. Its holdings span the 1850s to the present and include agency files, family and business collections, maps, photographs, manuscripts, newspapers, yearbooks, and bound volumes. For directories, the stated year spans are collection coverage with gaps. They are not proof of a complete annual run.

The Yolo County Archives is the main hands-on access channel. The Online Archive of California finding aid can identify collection A5.4 before a visit. The California State Library provides another directory collection route. For exact names, addresses, occupations, spouse notation, telephone listings, or reverse street entries, inspect the relevant volume rather than assuming every edition uses the same fields.

The first and last known years in a group of holdings. It does not mean that every year survives.
Reverse directory
A directory arranged by street address or phone number rather than only by a resident's surname.
Finding aid
A catalog description that identifies a collection and helps archive staff locate its boxes or volumes.

Woodland Directories Under Yolo City

Very early Woodland research has a naming quirk. Records may use Yolo City or county-level place terms rather than the modern city name. A search limited to “Woodland” can therefore miss an old resident. Try Woodland, Yolo City, Yolo County, a road or ranch name, and nearby community names in archive catalogs, newspapers, deeds, and directory indexes.

Older directory snippets report scattered editions for 1904, 1907, 1910, 1912, 1914, 1920, and 1924-1926, plus 1898 fire-insurance and 1908 fire-underwriter material. They also refer to a “Facts about Woodland” section naming churches, schools, public buildings, fraternal groups, amusements, and county officials. Since direct archive confirmation remains incomplete, ask Yolo County Archives for the actual container list before citing a specific volume.

For a historical address, pair a directory or reverse listing with a deed chain and a newspaper or probate search. A directory can suggest who occupied the property, the Recorder can establish recorded ownership, and an obituary or notice can tie the address to family members. That combination is stronger than any one Woodland directory.
